Did you know that MTV’s news correspondents have been updating weblogs at MTV.com? It’s one of those things that you learn during your morning Google News.

And it’s actually worth your time.

Also worth your time is this poetic article entitled “Videos? On MTV? Not anymore.” Its someone’s freshman composition essay on how the video has been phased out — in a nostalgic way, not a corporate way — yet the cable channel still has the Video Music Awards, which airs tonight. It has been the subject of similar tirates against MTV, all concluding the same thing: while pop music is here to stay, it is all too clear that the music itself has been overshadowed.

Not that I care all that much. Bring on the shows… Bring back Daria! I don’t want to see Justin Timberlake prance his way across a multi-colored stage again.
