Since we're all dorks here, I'll post (briefly) about some cool new tech goodies I have because I'm excited.
I don't remember if I posted about it or not, but I bought a 2-port USB KVM switch (Belkin is the brand; $49 was the price). Now I can switch between my PC and my PowerBook with the touch of a button. There are some bugs to work out -- namely that sometimes it won't switch over to my PC, or I may be working on my PC and it'll spontaneously switch over to my PowerBook (which may or may not even be plugged in!). I have an e-mail in to Belkin support, and I have a 3-yr warranty to back me up in case of trouble...
I also bought a 100-ft Cat-5e cable to run into the living room so I can connect my PS2 and my TiVo to the Internet. For the TiVo, I bought the $99 Home Media Option which enables remote scheduling (at about half price). The package came yesterday, so I'll be hooking that up as soon as I'm done with school today.
I'm not feeling great... I think I've come down with a mild cold. I think I'll be over it by the end of the week, though, because I'm already starting to feel better. Still, it's kind of knocked me out for a little while.
Despite getting sick, I had a great time at Adam's birthday party last night. We went to an empty downtown Gordo's, and I tried my first Cuban entree. It was flat steak, it had a Cuban name, and it was really chewy... so much that my jaw was sore afterward.
I felt bad having to leave so early last night, but I had a lot of work to do last night before my meeting this morning with Syn-Tech. I just got the database restored on my local machine (running MSDE, a free version of SQL Server), so now I can knock out the rest of the database-driven code and get this site done -- and get my money!
I'm late for class. Damn. :P
