Bleed to love her

Been listening to the last Fleetwood Mac album, Say You Will, and although I didn't like it the first time through, I'm liking it now. It's not super awesome, certainly not Rumours or the self-titled one, but . . .

Anyway, I just switched over to Speakerboxx. Just because that's how I roll.

iPod Shuffle I wants

So, I was thinking about getting a USB flash drive for carrying around backups of web pages, GarageBand files, and such. I wanted at least a 512 MB one, maybe more if the price was right. I started looking at the pricing, and for another $20 or so, I can get the iPod Shuffle! I would have zero purpose for it as a music player, but wouldn't that just be so Apple of me? :)

Yes, I know I should be sleeping, blah blah.

The DVR is dead, long live TiVo

Long Live TiVo, down with inadequate Comcast DVRs! Why can't you fast-forward with a Comcast DVR?

Gotta learn how to handle stress

It's 3 AM . . . I still have 3-5 one-page write ups to do. I've been at this since 11 or so, give or take a few 15 minute breaks here and there.

I've got this intense pain on my right chest. Well, not intense, just really irritating. It's like the muscle there is on fire. Occasionally it spreads to include my entire chest. I don't handle stress well. :(

If I somehow make it through this night and emerge functional on the other side, I need to make some changes in how I approach my weekly DIS obligations!

They invaded my privacy, darn it

I really shouldn't be journaling right now, but here I am.

I just got a weird phone call. I didn't recognize the number so I thought it might be Josh trying to call me again from his VoIP number -- sorry I missed the first try! -- but I answered it and it was clearly one of those call center people. My brain immediately flashed to this imaginary room in Indiana where they have all the people calling everyone that is accepted into their programs . . .

Metajournaling

I am the proud registrant of metajournaling.com.

My ambitious LJ killer

Another idea for my next-gen journal system.

I had already talked about including user-defined "tags" in the system. Much like how you can get a feed from Flickr or delicious based on a tag, I'd like to build into the "friends" feature a way to get all entries of a given tag. So, on what would be a "friends page" equivalent, it would include all entries that have the "FSU" tag.

Think of it as an automated way to find people with the same interests. If I was interested in buddhism, I'd set it up so I aggregate all public journal entries with the "buddhism" tag.

When I get bored at work...

I crack me up sometimes.

I'm not your mommy, I'm a white piece of paper

Great quote from Aaron Sorkin on writing:

"I love writing but hate starting. The page is awfully white and it says, 'You may have fooled some of the people some of the time but those days are over, giftless. I'm not your agent and I'm not your mommy, I'm a white piece of paper, you wanna dance with me?' and I really, really don't."

Josh just brought this to my attention, from the Onion:

Google Maps

I assume everyone already knows about Google Maps...?
