Been listening to the last Fleetwood Mac album, Say You Will, and although I didn't like it the first time through, I'm liking it now. It's not super awesome, certainly not Rumours or the self-titled one, but . . .
Anyway, I just switched over to Speakerboxx. Just because that's how I roll.
I saw Sideways last night. Wasn't too bad. Kind of a wine fetish movie, though, and I'm really not a wine person. I mean, it's alright, I don't hate it or anything (not how I dislike beer, for instance), I just don't taste what other people taste. There was this one scene that reminded me of when I was in a winery and there was a guy who was being all pretentious like the guy in this movie. . . smelling oak, strawberries, cheese, etc. It made me laugh. I'd give the movie a B, but I'd hold back on the Oscar noms. I understand now why it's not the Academy's baby, although there were some great performances. I'd like to see it win adapted screenplay.
I have some homework to do today. Is it OK if I say I hate this class, and this group? I've had some bad groups before but this one takes the cake. We all get along, nothing bad like that, it's just that none of us know what's going on. I'm also the only male. . . I feel uncomfortable being the minority. I get the vibe they're assuming I'm some sort of lazy so-called "typical" male.
I decided against the iPod shuffle as a Flash drive. It's just not cost effective, and I get the vibe that they still need to work out some bugs. I'm intrigued by the new iPod minis. Personally, I like the idea of having only 6 GB of space on my player. I really only listen to about 1000 songs, anyway. On the other hand, it's only another $50 or so to jump from a 6 GB mini to a 20 GB white iPod. My iPod's battery isn't doing so well anymore, so I've been planning it's successor. I'm in no rush to spend $300, don't misunderstand me, but I also want to be prepared when this one hits the ol' dusty trail. . .
I bought iLife '05 the other day. I could care less about the other apps, but I really, really wanted GarageBand 2. I kind of wish I hadn't upgraded it, though, because now I have wicked bad latency on my PODxt. It's really frustrating. I've been trying to get a cover of "Hold On Loosely" recorded for the past couple of nights, but it's just not happenin'. And all I want to do is lay down the rhythm tracks so I can wail out on the solo. (It's in a key I'm pretty comfortable improvising with.)
Been brainstorming about metajournaling. I understand how I want to to eventually work, but I can't quite figure out how to get the users to enter in the information. Or store it. The database structure, user interface, etc., all seem to be escaping me right now. I'm thinking about spending my summer DIS on researching different approaches, but I'm not entirely sure about that yet.
So now I just gotta do some homework. Blah.
