Another idea for my next-gen journal system.

I had already talked about including user-defined "tags" in the system. Much like how you can get a feed from Flickr or delicious based on a tag, I'd like to build into the "friends" feature a way to get all entries of a given tag. So, on what would be a "friends page" equivalent, it would include all entries that have the "FSU" tag.

Think of it as an automated way to find people with the same interests. If I was interested in buddhism, I'd set it up so I aggregate all public journal entries with the "buddhism" tag.

I'm also thinking of an automatic link between the user's "interests" and the content of individual entries, sort of like a second tier list of tags for the journal itself, which count as, say, 40% of the relevance on a by-tag search.

What do you think?
