Two weeks until the show...

Narwhal practicing for our show in two weeks. That's me on the bass, which isn't my regular role, but, eh, it came out alright. A few additional pictures are available.

Server Status Update

Yesterday I moved BenClark.com from my home server over to DreamHost. So far, I have been very impressed with the speed of the host. Setting up WordPress again and importing all of my entries was pain-free.

The only thing I haven't done yet is imported my new security blog, which at the moment is returning a 404 error. I hope to have that working very soon.

One of the main reasons for the switch is I'd like to start experimenting with podcasting. Look for a podcast to come pretty soon.

Two thousand yesterdays

Time to discuss some blog history.

I recently imported in this blog my first LiveJournal post. It's decidedly 'non-content,' but noteworthy nevertheless.

I will chew it up and leave, trust me

Coheed and Cambria are releasing their fourth album September 20th, and they've made available a teaser web site, complete with a sample track. (Requires Flash. Blah.)

Chocalypse Now: Willy Wonka, Heart of Darkness style.

Internet has returned

I now have Internet access again, after a fifteen-hour outage. I believe we can blame Hurricane Dennis.

No more TiVo!

I cancelled my TiVo account.

I feel like an awful person! I haven't felt this guilty since the day I first put together a Windows 95 computer and moved my LC III out of the way to make room on the desk. :(

They even offered me a discounted rate to stay with them! I almost did it. I was close. But I remembered that I really don't need it, and I can use that money each month for something better: a movie ticket; a book from a used bookstore; or a CD on Half.com.

Jet city woman

I'm really not feeling 100% today. I'm sick to my stomach and just feeling generally quite blah. I hope I won't pass it on to you, all my many fan.

I don't have internet access at home. Most people I've talked to who live in Tallahassee and have cable modems haven't had access since last night. The last time you saw me on AIM was the last time I had access. (Actually, by the time you saw me sign off, I had probably been without access for at least five minutes, since it only pings the server occasionally.)

They call me the breeze

I called about my barely-working A/C this morning, and I really didn't expect anything to be changed, but when I came home from work today, it was blown away by what felt like freezing cold air. I am so happy.

I will teach you to be rich

My question has been posted to IWillTeachYouToBeRich. Feel free to add comments and help me out.

Such a part of you

You know, I really need a pair of really good headphones. Maybe not "studio quality" but certainly something with a greater clarity than the set I have now.

Tonight, I'd really just like to be in a dark room listening to Siamese Dream. It's soothing in it's familiarity. Music is a great escape.
