What'd I miss?

Okay, so I drop off the face of the planet for what seems like a few days, and suddenly it's November. And not just 'November,' but smack dab in the middle of November.

I've created a new WordPress theme. You're (probably) seeing it right now. I like it. No B.S. like fonts, colors, or graphics -- just pure fixed-width text goodness. I call it alt.newsgroup.theme in honor of the bygone years of Usenet, UNIX terminals, and dial-in BBSes. Feel free to use it on your own site.

I spent most of October sick as a dog. I'm over the worst of it, but it really kicked me off my feet. Maybe that's why I'm so far behind on all of my life goals, like the ones I posted about back at the beginning of August. Or maybe it's because the new TV season started and I got hooked on Heroes, Lost, Shark, 30 Rock, and The Office. For trite escapism, they do their jobs adequately.

Actually, looking back on the last two months of inactivity on this blog, and trying to recap what I did during that time, has made me rather self-conscious about what I spent my time doing. Being sick really did take up most of my time, but that was just one month of three. For the time being, things seem to be staying the same -- neither exciting nor traumatic. In the shadow of events earlier this year, that's probably a good thing.

I'd like to start posting here more often. I'm seeing a lot of people jump ship from LiveJournal, which hosts the most established blog that I have (established April 2001). I'm not sure why LJ is being abandoned, but I suspect that MySpace is the culprit. It's such a shame. Anyway, I've got to build myself a life raft here or I'll just be some guy talking to himself on the Internet. And that, my friends, is just plain sad.
