Outside Red Rock Canyon, Nevada

June 2008

I am finally able to leave the country. Legally. (I got my passport.) I am looking forward to my cruise in October. (Road trip comes first.)

Last day of June! 12 days until I drive down for my brother's wedding. 19 days until my 5,000 mi road trip.

Watching/listening to Wimbledon tennis right now. What's with the .. uncomfortable .. sounds coming from the players when they hit?

Antimatter, Leaving Eden (2007), is a pretty good listen. In other news, no news. Trying to be productive on an overcast Sunday afternoon.

I've been listening to The Frames' "Set List" album. It's good. Give it a try.

Grr. Why are color profiles so complicated? ... Or, why can't I publish a picture that looks good on a Mac AND in Windows?

Maggie is officially on her way to London!

Get Smart wasn't bad. I give it a solid "B+" -- recommended with the disclaimer that it doesn't deserve more than just a Blockbuster rental.

My girlfriend is now a published journalist! http://tinyurl.com/3rvwmp

Second night in a row that I didn't get good sleep. That's not trending well.

Neck muscles are tense, probably from walking 2-3 miles earlier today. I'm out of shape!

Walking Lake Overstreet trail.

Lesson for the day: I still have a lot to learn about my Nikon D40. Just tried a series of indoor shots for a web project I'm working on.

I forgot that "Delirium Trigger" is a good song. Thanks, iPod on shuffle!

I am so glad that the weather gods are allowing rain to fall from the sky. It'd been far too infrequent lately.

Um. Why couldn't I get gas from any of the gas stations I went to? None of the self-serve, pay-at-the-pump things were working.

There are guys outside sanding down the sealant on my office window. Noise is now burning into my brain. Cannot function. Must escape . . .

Busy day of meetings, DBAN, and support issues, but I still managed to follow the WWDC'08 Keynote. iPhone 3G -- exciting! Cheap(er) is good.

I detest Tallahassee summers. If there were a breeze, that's tolerable--but no, we're left to boil in the sun like the bags of water we are.

I smell like Subway---the restaurant, not the mode of public transportation---and this is not a good thing. (A vaguely yeast-like scent...)

Running around solving the world's problems this morning. Or at least the problems of computers in the two floors nearest my office...
