August Update

I'm just not good at this three blog thing. I apologize for not updating this one much lately.

We are now in the month of August, so allow me to quickly hit all the marks for July:

I saw Pirates of the Carribean 2, and hated it.

My grandfather came to visit in July. It was really nice to see him, and I hope he can return again soon and/or that I can go up to Virginia to visit.

Star Wars, Episode III - Initial Reactions

Star Wars wasn't all bad. It wasn't all good, either. The last hour was far more entertaining than the first hour, and unlike some reviewers and fanboys, I find it hard to ignore the sluggishness of all but the last few action scenes. If it wasn't "the last Star Wars movie ever," I would've walked out of the theater hating it -- but obviously, we can't have that, so I'll give it a B- and be done with it.

I got free Star Wars tickets!

I had been waiting to post this until I knew for sure I was getting them, but guess who scored free tickets to the ~~8pm~~ 6:30pm showing of Star Wars? :)

Hotel Rwanda

Been listening to the last Fleetwood Mac album, Say You Will, and although I didn't like it the first time through, I'm liking it now. It's not super awesome, certainly not Rumours or the self-titled one, but . . .

Anyway, I just switched over to Speakerboxx. Just because that's how I roll.

Oh man, I'm still geeking out about it!

I got to see The Incredibles this afternoon. I loved it, predictably. Jason Lee is a great super-villain, because he's ... he's effin' Jason Lee, dammit. Anyway, most of you are probably going to see it despite my endorsement, but for the few that inexplicably were unsure about a Pixar movie ... just go see it already.

Seven Days!

Seven days from now, I’ll be in possession of my new truck. I’m pretty excited. Also, in seven days, my eBay auction of a Hauppauge WinTV TV Tuner/Video Capture card will be complete. I plan on listing more stuff I’ll never use again, but maybe not tonight.
